It has been a long day. Days actually. I came to Ranipet day before yesterday. I wanted so desparately to do nothing. But that was not to be. Yesterday, I spent most of my waking hours in the school and today, I am typing out stuff for my mother. Tomorrow, I am going to be taking my grandmother to the hospital. So much work! I saw The Goblet of Fire last night. Finally, a good print. I liked it. I would have like it more if they had included more from the book. Oh well. I have been watching the BBC 6 cd version of Pride & Prejudice. Awesome. I love Colin Firth as Darcy. Yummy.

I have also read about 8 books since I came here and eaten a lot.

I went for a walk yesterday morning and this morning and both times, I was escorted by some street dogs. Not all the way but through some streets. It was weird. Three dogs would walk with me till the end of one street, just behind me and then another mangy canine would follow me till the end of the next street. Yikes.

I noticed a really unusual smell yesterday morning. Behind my house, there is this new house that has been built over what used to be a dirt road. Now, both this new house and older house on the other side use the land around it as a rubbish dump for plastic and paper waste and the path I was on was through it. I thought it would stink but I was too lazy to take the long way around. It didn't. It smelt like room freshener. Have you ever come across a rubbish dump that smells like Odonil? I told my father that after I came home and he said that that's why they want to retire in Ranipet. Because even the garbage dosen't stink here.
