Hell or the streets of Chennai?

Don't say 'Go to Hell!' to anybody again. Don't even think it. It does not do justice to all that anger and hate and rage and disgust and whatever else you want to throw at that person/ those people. Instead say, 'May your autokaran take you through all the pot-holed, piled high with vegetable refuse, half-lane streets of Chennai at 2pm in the May and may you be over-charged, broiled in the heat, sweat through your eyes, and smell like you lived in a garbage dump all your life.' It is a little bit longer but it is a lot more representative of your feelings. Why say Hell when you can say which particular Hell on Earth you want them to be banished to? And, when they do finally get home, when their weary arms reach for fan switch, may the power be off. Justice for all their many sins, past and future. What is the point of being punished in your next life or in the afterlife for your sins, let it be here and now!

I could say 'God is Cruel', but that is like saying 'A Fish market Stinks'(The capital S was intentional) or 'Shrek is Funny' (Again, intentional). So, I just say 'Ugh' and go back to pointless typing, staring at the screen and wishing I was somewhere else but at the same time very happy that I'm in an air conditioned place. This could be worse in so many ways.

I would thank you for your patience, but you probably have nothing better to do. So bye and see you again, sometime.

  1. demon,
don't you dare put a finger at chennai.
Like you said, "God is Cruel", so is chennai. It is God in his truest form. "Aandavan nallavangala sodhippan..anna kai vidamattan" - Baasha. You are as close as you can get to God by living in chennai.
be thankful that you were not in some equatorial country like the ecuador, or some remote place in brazil where people are yet to discover electricity. By 3 in the afternoon sea breeze sets in and gets cooler. What more do you want?
And who the hell asked you to get on the roads at 2?

  4. What's he talking about demon?? (btw, I called you 'demon' FIRST :D)

Chennai's a classic case of "rough-and-the-smooth", rough roads and smotth-talking auto drivers. ;)
