i could scream at these bloody shiv sena types

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. there i've screamed. i read an article in indian express (is it in or on indian express?) about women, clothes and rape.

In the attempt to provide a ‘free’ atmosphere at home, parents proudly allow girls to wear skimpy clothes and give boys uncontrolled freedom.

To see girls dangle a cigarette openly is worrisome. If a man is provoked by such clothes, who can one blame?

When these girls wear skimpy clothes and leave home, why don’t the elders of the house object? Why don’t they correct the misunderstanding that being modern does not mean wearing skimpy clothes? Why is the young generation modern in attire but not modern in thought? One after another, these questions are at the forefront.

Those who argue that there is no connection between women and girls wearing skimpy clothes and rape should keep the social structure in mind. Besides rape, it is the evil eye of men provoked by the culture of skimpy clothes that is harmful. Why encourage these perverse tendencies?

In the name of remixes, the wave of ‘sex appeal’ is ruining entire generations. If an adolescent boy develops perverse tendencies because of such hot movies and their obscene posters, and an innocent girl falls victim to that, then who is to blame.

The boy’s perversity or society.

This was from Shiv Sena’s Marathi mouthpiece Saamna’s front-page article on Monday. How can they give excuses like this and make it the girl's fault? how is it ok to rape a girl and then claim that she was wearing "skimpy" clothes, and she "provoked" it? why do these people live? i want to kill them slowly, dangle them by their fingernails over a lava vat, and dip then in it, hear them scream and then tell them, "your fault, you know. you provoked me with your skimpy argument and meaningless drivel. if you had a brain, even a little decency you might have lived to see tomorrow. but no; you had to be a hypocrite, and for that you die. slowly." every one of them. this drivel was spouted not just by the shiv sena but also by a muslim cleric in sydney only a few days after Saamna was published.

The former Australian boxing champion said rape victims had no one to blame but themselves.
‘‘Strapless, backless, sleeveless, nothing but satanic skirts, slit skirts, translucent blouses, miniskirts, tight jeans—all this to tease man and appeal to his carnal nature,’’ the 34-year-old told a 1,000-strong crowd at a Global Youth Islamic Centre in south west Sydney.

awful people. but there is still hope.

One guy who called in to give his views: “I should remind the Sheik that under Islamic law, if someone commits adultery or rape, he’s punished by death. So he should keep that in mind,” said one caller who identified himself as Mohammad.

no points for guessing who i agree with. kill them all.

voltaire- i disagree with what you say, but i will fight till death to protect your right to say it.not all the time. Swami Vivekananda disgustedly exclaimed that ‘tolerance’ was an ugly word. It stank of an attitude of “I know you are wrong but I tolerate your error!” with that i agree. sometimes. how do you tolerate people who say rape victims had no one to blame but themselves. i can't. then where is the line between freedom to speech and inciting violence. do we tell them, just dont teach it to small kids in tribal villages who dont have other schools to go to? this is what shiv sena does.it was on tv yesterday in some other context. they run schools in north & east india and all those kids are fed so much propaganda. how is that any better than what they claim missionary-run christian schools do? there must be a way to regulate what kids learn. they then grow to be big bullies like their teachers, spouting religious nonsense and instigating regionalism and blaming everybody but the the guy who did it.

i like this place less every day. but the rest of the world seems no better.
