House of Sand & Fog

I just saw House of Sand and Fog. I wish people wouldnt talk when there's a movie going on.

I hated it.

I loved it.

Watch it.

It has Ben Kingsley as Colonel Behrani (not Behroony, Barmani or Burmini. Behrani), Shohreh Aghdashloo (i love this name, ijust rolls in your mouth. try it) as Mrs. Behrani, a really cute teenager as their son and Jennifer Connelly as Kathy Lazaro. Jennifer Connoley makes you want to slap her to her senses and her married boyfriend in this movie is creepy, in a dumb hick kind of way. The Colonel amd his family are perfect. It was a little weird in the begining to see him working on a road crew and then living in a $175000 hotel apartment. But it made sense. and when he says, "I am tired of working like an arab, getting paid like an arab! We will move to this house and you will satrt packing now" to his wife you can feel the anger and the frustration coming off him. And later in the movie, he tells his son not to be like him... that'll get you too.

The creepy deputy sheriff was damn good too. Initially he just seemed like he had the hots for Jennifer Connoley, but later, wow... he did the angry, pissed off, clueless, bully very well.

Go see it. You might hate it or love it, but you definitely won't leave half way.
